My students love hands on activities for learning and this year they have started their hands on learning with our garden. This was our first year gardening so we have discovered many obstacles due to lack of supplies. My students need more room to prepare their vegetables from the garden that is clean along with storage for their packaging. They will be able to use the kitchen center to prepare the vegetables to sell at our farmers market. This will be used throughout the school year during the months where we are producing vegetables in our garden. They will be able to share the space with many other students and rotate through with their friends. With the extra room for storage, it will be an easier transition and all of the students will know where the supplies are stored. Your generous donation to our classroom will allow the students to work more in their garden with extra space and storage while other students are tending to the garden.
They will also get to learn what a compost pile is using the compost bin and why it is important for our garden. This will change our students lives for the better. They will love school and feel proud of their gardening area with a much larger, clean space.
