Students in my Cultural Arts class will be able to learn about textile creation through the social and cultural tradition of weaving by using the Schacht Student Looms. They will study designs and patterns from their choice of culture to create their textile. These looms will give them an authentic and sophisticated learning experience and will also excite them to learn. The looms along with flexible seating choices will enhance their experience. With backjack chairs, some students will have an opportunity to sit together in community in a special area of my classroom that will be set up. This will provide a learning environment that goes beyond learning technique, but also building an appreciation for the social tradition of weaving.
