Currently, our school runs a school-wide walking program. Laps are counted using tickets. This is a time-consuming way to track student's laps. A portable barcode scanner will transform our walking program. A barcode scanner would allow us to track the number of laps each student walks with student lanyards and barcode badges. Following each lap, they will place their badge near the barcode scanner for a quick and effective method of tracking. Students will benefit immensely from this new technology. Students will be excited to participate in the daily walking program and will compete for different prizes. This will help all students get the daily exercise that they need and have a love of walking and enjoying the outdoors.
