My students will use programs that will teach them how to code and other online programs to help them learn geometric shape concepts in both third and fourth grade. The Chromebooks will be used in a center and all the students will rotate through the center on a daily basis. There are many computer science and math standards that can be integrated into the same lessons. Creating and solving algorithms, sequential order, computational thinking, problem solving skills, working in pairs and following directions are critical for students success in both content areas. There are other coding programs we will use along with Scratch, CS Unplugged, CS First and Tynker that will help students make the connections between math and computer science.
