Having color coded cubby trays will make it possible for literacy centers to be easily organized and differentiated for the different needs in my classroom. Centers can be sorted based on skills and students can easily grab a word work center that best meets their learning needs. Organization is key for literacy centers to run smoothly and effectively. Students will be able to quickly grab a center and get to work. Learning time will be maximized because less time will be spent on handing out materials. Students will be able to independently get what they need while the teacher is working with other students. Students will be more invested and motivated in their learning as they will have the freedom to choose their center. Students are more willing to stay on task and focused when they have a choice. While students are at centers it will give the teacher the ability to fully focus a literacy small group.
