In this age of technology, I am excited to use the kindle fires to bring reading to my students in a new and exciting way. There are several websites that our school has access to, including Reading A-Z that offer unique online reading experiences for students. They also provide an abundance of books that students can access at their specific reading level. The exciting part for me is that these websites that students can access with their kindle fires not only offer students a chance to read on-line, but they tie phonics instruction to reading. So students will have a phonics lesson that focuses on a skill they need, and then students are able to read books that help them practice that skill, all while developing their technology skills.
