I teach Algebra 2 to tenth and eleventh graders in a college-preparatory charter school that serves low socio-economic families. Over 99% of my students are in the minority group. 92% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Most of my students will be the first to go to college in their families. I have been teaching secondary mathematics for over eleven years. As much as possible, I use the constructivist approach in engaging my students with mathematics concepts. I believe in inquiry and problem-solving based instructional strategies that makes learning mathematics about connection to the real world. I also recognize the importance of technology in 21st century curriculum and instruction. I supplement my classroom instruction with online activities using technology (http://iowoyemi.com/moodle/index.php). For professional development, I am almost done working toward my masters degree in curriculum and instructio
