My second grade writers need to read and hear talented poets that inspire them to create poems we can all be proud of hearing. With the materials we have requested, our class , 95% high-poverty level, can increase our reading fluency, meet grade-level standards for speaking and listening, and become interested in poetry from popular poet Shel Silverstein. The materials will be used for many years and help not only this year's class, but other second graders as well. We have carefully chosen the materials we need to succeed.

About my class
