Some of my students will use the iPad to enhance their communication. Some students who are unable to communicate verbally are given a chance to express themselves in other ways. Sign language isn't for everyone so by providing the students with Proloquo2go on an iPad, they are able to learn to put sentences together and request for items in a different manner. What works for some students may not work for other students. It is important to remember this because we tend to get into a routine of what works and we try to stick to it. We need to remember that every student is different. By providing my classroom with an iPad, I will be able to take data on how each student uses this iPad effectively for communication. If a student is successful, the district will provide that student with their own iPad to be taken back and forth to school everyday. This makes communication easy for everyone.
