Seating in our classroom is difficult at best. My partner teacher and I share 42 students currently--21 in each class! That is a lot of little bodies to find places for. My classroom is filled with bulky desks that take up a huge amount of space--not to mention they are rusting and some are even broken! It would be wonderful to be able to give my students more choices and flexibility in their seating options. With this project, I can remove those over-sized, outdated desks and have great spaces for my students to work on. We can keep the tables, lowered and use the cushions on the floor for more comfortable seating. These new seating options will enable my students to focus more on their learning and less on how uncomfortable they are in desks that don't fit their body sizes. They will take pride in knowing that there are other people out there besides their teachers who care about their learning and want them to succeed in life.
