We need programming and robotics materials to create a FIRST LEGO League team: EV3 Robot Set with related materials and a Chromebook for programming the EV3. My students want to further their working knowledge of technology by programming physical robots. The practical application of LEGO robotics encourages problem-solving and creativity. FIRST LEGO League and the Mindstorms EV3 give students the power to create and command their own robotic machine. My students and I are interested in creating a FIRST LEGO League team. Programming and team building lead to increased literacy and critical thinking, and these skills will enable the next generation of innovators. Most of my students come from lower-income families who cannot afford the tools and resources needed to compete in the job market. This project focuses on skills students need to be successful adults and leaders.
