We need a new easel to improve student learning. The classroom easel is the hub for learning in first grade. The easel is used to store valuable resources used for whole group instruction, such as dry erase markers, books, and other visual props used to enhance learning. The easel will be used as a safe place for all of students to learn whole group, a place to display student made anchor charts, and a whiteboard for teacher-led instruction. A teaching easel will give me a place to create and refer back to our class-created "anchor charts" as we learn new concepts. The chart will later be hung around the classroom for all to see their hard work and to show off what we know.
We currently use a cabinet door as a temporary easel. This system does not work well for my students because they cannot write on the chart because I have to hang it so high for all to see. It is also difficult for students to see it; with a real easel it would be front and center, making our time well spent and close knit.
Please consider donating to help my students become better readers and writers.
