I am a Technology Facilitator. My school has over 800 students. It is my job to integrate more technology. As the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards change from"Learning to use Technology" in 1998, to "Using Technology to Learn" in 2007, to "Transformative Learning with Technology" in 2016 my job has shifted. It is not enough to teach students how to use word processing or create powerpoints. It is my job to guide students to be Creative, think Critically, Collaborate and Communication. Coding is the closest thing I have to a silver bullet! Our students are eager to learn. The overall climate and culture of this school is amazing. These students are bright, hard working, and the most cooperative group I have ever worked with. Regardless of the task, they get the work done. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach these students.
