Enhance your understanding with a little color! I'm at a high-risk school in a high-need community with students who struggle with basic concepts. I teach 1 9th grade English class and 4 10th grade classes. Our school has been slowly improving over the past 5 years in test scores, graduation rates, and students entering both 2 and 4 year colleges. Being able to do close textual analysis will help my students excel once they've made the transition into college.
