Writing happens everyday in my classroom, especially in senior English. The most success I have with helping students write is when I model the writing with them. For my kids, seeing an adult struggle, mess up, and revise goes a long way towards becoming fluent writers. A document camera would let all students in the class see the writing process in-action, both by their teacher and their peers. Writing isn't something that should make students feel alone or adrift. The gift of a document camera would help the students in this class find their voices in their writing, which is a gift that lasts a lifetime.
