In my school most of the children rarely experience the joy of a new item. Their clothes are purchased at a second hand store or are handy-me down from family and friends. While there is nothing wrong with this...I would like to give them the opportunity to create and design a shirt that is unique to them. That has only been worn by them. Not to mention the added benefit to express themselves in an artistic form as an individual; our history show that this item has given them a hope, excitement, and confidence to go out into the community. They continue to wear the shirts in middle school and speak about their 5th grade family.

About my class
