Donations will help my students get to experience how technology can help them learn. I currently have one iPad in my classroom. Sharing one iPad between 21 students can get tricky! Students get so excited when they get to go to the iPad station. They do not know it, but rather than playing they are learning through games and songs. More iPads in my classroom would allow more students the chance to learn in this fun and exciting way. I plan on using these new iPads in my daily rotations. While I am teaching my reading and math groups I allow students to do different rotations so that every student is engaged even when I am focusing on my small group.
With the three additional iPads I could have groups of 2 students on educational apps. I also plan on using a QR code reader this year. Students will scan the lesson or scavenger hunt I want them to do and it would automatically pop up on the iPad. I wanted to do this last year but did not have the resources. A lot of my students do not have this type of technology at home so having it at school is a real treat!
