Your donation will help each of my students have their very own copy of this book to keep forever. For many of the kids in my Title One school, literacy is far removed from their own experience. I want them to love this book, take it with them as their own personal property, and share it with others. By funding this project, you may be giving my students the very first book they've ever been able to have of their very own and not return to a library. "The Red Umbrella" is a wonderful book that my students in past years have loved dearly, and have even chosen to stay after the dismissal bell to hear just one more chapter. Your donation will help my kids to be able to take this book out of the classroom and understand the feeling of having a book you want to read under the covers with a flashlight after bedtime...and see that the joy of reading can happen outside of a classroom, too.
