I teach K-8 computer skills. My classroom looks very different every day. Some days I am working on coding with 4/5th graders. Some days I am navigating ABC websites with Kindergarteners. Other days I am working with Middle School students on having a positive internet presence and creating personalized websites. My school district is over 60% free and reduced lunch students and our district struggles to pass operating levies. Despite these seemingly disadvantages our students are some of the brightest and most positive kids to work with. We have been pioneers in our area in terms of implementing technology into all classrooms. 1st graders are making their own slideshows, 5th graders are doing research projects about ocean debris, and 8th graders are working on 3D printing.
