After many conversations with my students, I have realized that many of them do not read for fun. They have not found books that they want to fully immerse themselves in. My students associate reading with boring school work. Their eyes light up when I give them a fiction book that is different from anything they read for school. In an effort to develop lifelong readers, I want to use these books to pique the interest of my children. Many of the students at my school are reading below grade level. Using the books from this project would allow me to introduce my students to books they find interesting so they have fun while developing their reading skills.
