Our School will be starting a garden club this spring. Our goals will be to ​create a living classroom in our courtyard by planting vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers. We will also be learning the principles of planting and tending a garden. We currently do not have any of the tools necessary for gardening, other than a plot of land and a willingness to put in the hard work. We need everything from trowels, composters, wheelbarrows, cultivators to seeds. We plan to design raised beds so that the garden is accessible to all students. We also would like to incorporate some garden art pieces that are functional planters for herbs and flowers. Our mission is to promote balance through hard work and knowledge. To communicate and connect with students, staff, parents, and our community as we work together. To teach good nutrition as we plant, tend, and harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. To be risk takers by getting our hands dirty in order to create something beautiful. To be good stewards of the earth and of our bodies. We will be designing raised beds for planting vegetables
