The addition of portable CD players in our classroom will help to build upon the literacy that will make my students successful in their education. The CD players will be a part of our literacy centers on a daily basis to help build their reading fluency and comprehension. Since English is not the primary language of the majority of my students, providing an opportunity for them to listen to books through audio is a key component to acquiring the necessary reading skills to make them successful. This donation will not only give my students the opportunity to grow through reading, but because of the portability, it will give them an individualized choice in the book they are reading which increases the engagement and love for reading and learning.
