Engaging Prek-5th Graders remotely all day is difficult for the students and for me, their teacher! Especially when using a computer that can't effectively run a Google Meet without glitches, frozen screens, and getting dropped from meetings. I need a computer with more processing power and RAM so that I can play videos and music, show presentations on my shared screen, mute students quickly, make and edit videos, and use the new breakout room function in Google Meet.
I want my remote lessons to be just as interactive and engaging for my students as my in-school lessons are, but it's difficult when technology issues begin and my little learners have to sit and wait for me to tend to the issues instead of beginning the lesson.
I love my students, and I want to be able to effectively teach and mentor them this year. PreK-5th are such important years! I want technology to be the least of my difficulties this year, and I think a new computer will help me make a difference in the lives of my students as we navigate this new remote world together!
