There are literally hundreds of ways that dry erase boards can be used in the classroom and having access to good quality magnetic dry erase boards is so essential for my students. These will help us cut back on our copies and better adhere to shrinking budgets. Parents provided us with dry erase markers on the supply list, and I would like to make better use of those materials. I will be able to quickly assess student understanding and comprehension in an anonymous and paperless fashion. This helps me to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of my class. Using markers and white boards exposes students to a different sensory experience than that of a traditional paper and pencil. We already have magnetic alphabet manipulatives that students can use to build sight words during centers and morning work. White boards make small group warm-up activities easier with less prep time involved.
