Our request is simple. We teach reading. We need books. We would like class sets of the classic novel, Bud, Not Buddy. Currently, we do not have the resources to provide quality literature to each of our students. Many of our students are English Language Learners and below grade level. Through this unit, our students will gain perspective on historical events that continue to influence today. We want to instill a love for reading in our students, and show them that reading is more than just a state test. Most importantly, our students will learn what it means to have empathy for others.

About my class
