My students are 3rd grade special education students in East Harlem, New York City. My students come from a low-income neighborhood, with all of them receiving free breakfast and lunch services. My students attend a great public school, with a culture of achievement and culture of peace. While the students are pushed to strive for greatness everyday, our school lacks the funding to provide extracurricular activities to help students become well rounded, college bound, citizens.
