We are a Title 1 school district that has suffered reductions in staff and diminished budgets. My standards and expectations remain high for the students, but I could use a little assistance with materials. My students are amazing and they want to learn! Schools provide plently of pencil and paper activities, but teachers must copy, cut and paste their own centers and activites (these wear out quickly). This generation is use to stimulating visuals, and the items I have chosen look much more enticing than my handmade items or worksheets. I am looking for other ways to have exciting items as we continue to work on foundations of comprehension, critical thinking skills, and higher order thinking. My class could also use a few school supplies as many students come with little or none, and run out during the year. Thank you for giving of yourself and investing in the futures of my students.
