My students have been learning to appsmash and have created digital learning portfolios this school year. We have a limited amount of technology in our class and the addition of 2 iPads would allow my students to interact more effectively with technology.
Students will use tech to communicate their in-class learning with their families and our greater community. Families will be able to gain a greater sense of what their child is learning in real-time.
The digital portfolio app that we use (Seesaw) automatically translates notes and comments into our families home languages. This has improved communication with all of our families.
Students love that their families have been able to see their work and often ask to upload pictures and videos of their in class projects. Students have also begun to develop their "voice" as a learner. They are better able to explain their thinking and take on more ownership of their learning.
Students will continue to develop their 21st century technology skills while expanding and enhancing their learning experiences. Students will be able to create presentations and share their learning. They will also work on digital citizenship.
