I am a third grade teacher at Creekside Elementary School in New Bern, North Carolina. Creekside is a fantastic center of learning for this community and the students here are a blessing. We have a beautiful facility. However, just like every other school, we have some needs that are not met through regular school funding. The students in my class come from a wide range of backgrounds, with a variety of academic levels. Some students need enrichment, while others need remediation. In addition, many of them are from military families who have been stationed in the area. Some of our families are on active duty while others have chosen to stay in this area after leaving the military.
