Students will be using lily pad LEDs, felt fabric, conductive thread, and lily pad battery holders to create a series circuit wearable art bracelet. Student proposals for the series circuit will include the scientific process, including expectations and the outcome of this wearable art project. The finished product will allow them to practice using design, as well as experience the practice of the Scientific Process. Students will see their own ideas come to life and make something tangible for a project that addresses their understanding of how energy is transferred from one object to another. Students can practice using design technology and experience careers related to it: architecture, graphic design, and modeling. In the end, they will be problem-solvers, empowered to take the skills and knowledge in their class to improve their lives and those of people around them.
