This school year all of my students will be in-person learning with me at school. The materials I am requesting with this project will be used to help my students feel like they have some control over their environment by cleaning the air naturally with plants and with science by using an air filter. I want to also make our space feel as cozy as possible since we were not able to decorate our classrooms last year due to safety issues around the pandemic. Nature is shown to reduce overall stress and anxiety. Displaying plants throughout the room gives my students a bit of the outdoors, indoors! I can incorporate the love my students already have with the outdoors and teach them how to care for living things. Students will adopt, name, and care for their plants. As a bonus, I have several students who have asthma, and the air purifier will help them and all of us breathe easier!
