We are an elementary school servicing students grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. I currently have a class of 23 First Graders, many of which are ELL students, several who speak very little to no English, and most qualify for free/reduced lunches. With a growing population of students from different cultures and backgrounds, many of my students do not come from homes where fluent reading is modeled. They usually have parents/families that speak little or no English.
