Today, our youth has opportunities to take in information through a variety of media. These graphic novels introduce intriguing narratives in a visual way that is satisfying to many students who otherwise might have a low interest in reading text. The goal is to get students to become lifelong readers and graphic novels are a way to encourage that. Using visual aids to make meaning out of stories promote overall literacy. Comics are visually stimulating and promotes literacy among students. Comics are often portrayed as superhero stories but they are also capable of introducing narrative classics and myths in a high interest way.

About my class
