My English language students must have scaffolding, modeling and immediate feedback to support them with second language acquisition. I want them to stay engaged during distance learning because most are only receiving academic English during school hours. The latest technology will assist me in supporting this goal and spark an interest in language arts, the world is rapidly changing and educators must stay within this curve to capture all of the student’s interests and encourage academic engagement. Some of my students may not have access to reading material in English in their homes so I want be able to share authentic texts with them via google classroom. I want to capture their interests and attention to encourage and increase their acquisition of academic English in real time. The writing tablet will allow to conduct Close Readings with annotation in real-time with the students. Struggling readers will receive immediate support using the Elmo camera, white board and tablet.
