With the six wind turbines, my students will have the ability to enhance their understanding of energy transformation and electromagnetism in an engaging way. They will have the opportunity to persevere, problem-solve, and design a wind turbine that makes a light bulb glow. These turbine kits will provide my students with another opportunity to develop social skills, to work together, and to achieve the satisfaction of meeting a goal as a group. Students will also develop the ability to construct and engineer their own turbine blades and to iteratively redesign their wind turbine setups to achieve maximum light bulb voltage.
