When students are pushed to try, fail, and succeed, it deepens the learning and also pushes out the notion of perfection. Students embrace the possibility of trial and error and learn to encourage themselves and others. Although respect, integrity, and honesty are not outright encouraged throughout an entire Makerspace, they are built within. As students see other peers move through frustration, hopefulness, and success, they learn to relate and see each other as one and the same. This project can guide students towards naturally gaining lifelong skills. Bringing technology into the classroom is an access point to learning a new skill, understanding how to use technology in a healthy way, and opening a door for a kiddo who may have never had the chance before. Technology allows students to go beyond our expectations. The ability to connect art, math, science, literature, communication skills, and a plethora of other subjects and skills is my driving force to bringing technology into my classroom.
