Research has proven that students who have access to a print-rich environment are more successful all around. My students have shown an interest in nonfiction text and especially science. With the purchase of the Science Spin Scholastic Magazines, every child will have their own weekly copy to take home. The computer and printer will also be used to print some of the Virtual books included with our reading series and taken home so that students can share them with their families. Students will learn more as their families become active participants in their academic journey. Students have already shown interest in these Scholastic magazines. This will be a great way to pair fiction with nonfiction texts, which is extremely difficult for early learners and developing readers. Putting important texts into the hand of young readers is a top priority! Every child will have access to rich print at home and school!
