The students engage in iReady lessons on the computer each day as an intervention to improve their comprehension skills in both literature and informational text, phonics, vocabulary, and phonemic awareness. Many of the students entered the third grade below level in reading and this additional intervention is necessary for their remediation and improvement. The students go to the school's media center each day of the school week to engage in their iReady lessons for thirty minutes. Without headphones, the media center is noisy with the many voices coming from the computers and students become off task from what is happening on their own computers. We need the headphones so that the students can be fully engaged in their custom iReady lessons and of course, improve their scores. With less distractions, they will be fully involved and make gains.
