About my class

My amazing students receive specialized instruction within my classroom while continuing to have access to general education classes. Our classroom includes 9 high school students. Each student's education is individualized and every student in mainstreamed to the greatest extent possible. Having opportunities for both self-contained special education and general education, students have the opportunity to work toward achieving a Regents diploma while strengthening their social and emotional skills. We are a school made up of mostly low-income families. Students tend to have poor attendance due to a multitude of factors and struggle to "do school" in the traditional ways. Each day I try to find engaging and motivating lessons to inspire them. I want my classroom to be a place they enjoy coming to each and every day! My classroom should be a place where they discover new things about the world AND themselves.
