This ready to go maker's space will provide my students with all the tools and supplies to begin creating beyond their wildest imaginations. The Maker Space contains many of the tools found in a home workshop as well as tubes, gears, wood, foam, hardware and electrical components along with Maker Space project cards. Students will be encouraged to create projects individually or in small groups. Opportunities to create will cover NV Computer/Tech. Standards 6.C.2.1 which emphasizes creativity and innovation along with NGSS standards 1-PS4-4 , 2-PS1, K-2-ETS1-1 where students will build design and build a device and K-2-ETS1-2 Engineering Design where students will develop a simple sketch, drawing, or physical model to illustrate how the shape of an object helps it function as needed to solve a given problem. Students will have access to project cards that emphasize NV Reading Informational text Standards RI.2.7 : Explain how specific images (e.g., a diagrams showing how a machine works) contribute to and clarify a text.
