In order to instill an early love for reading, I want to set up an inviting and cozy library area for my students. The more alluring the space is, the more they will be inclined to explore various types of age appropriate literature. I want to empower my learners to make their own book choices and have shared reading experiences with their peers. The book shelf and chairs I have requested will create a library space that encourages both. The magnetic dry erase boards and magnet letters I have requested will be available materials in the library area to use as word work tools. Students will be encouraged to point out sight words in books and spell them with the magnet letters. This hands on experience will not only make visiting the library area more fun, but provide a meaningful way of learning important curriculum material.
