These books will be used in the classroom setting. Students will have the opportunity to read captivating, historical non-fiction text. It will diversify my classroom lessons by providing something new and unique. Books are hard to come by at my school especially books for every individual to access. This project will be a collaboration between Social Studies and English. This experience will change their outlooks on non-fiction text by giving them concrete evidence of excellent writing. This will be beneficial on so many different levels. Students will learn to appreciate non-fiction writing based on important American events. They will be engaged in comprehension and learning new vocabulary. They will be expanding their knowledge, and their excitement will be uncontainable.
