As students enter the classroom and are faced with challenges at home and at school, you do your best as a teacher to make it happen. You beg, borrow, and buy materials to make their education the best. This usually leaves the "extra" necessities at the bottom of the list. Having the right materials in a classroom is life changing. In our classroom, students learn and retain information by doing. Having the document camera would be an asset to their learning. This way I as the teacher can model a worksheet, use manipulatives, or display an article for students to see. The white boards are something that is used everyday and in all subjects. It is a way that I can do a quick assessment to determine who needs some remediation and which group of students have mastered a skill. It is a very useful tool in the classroom.
