The code resources that I am requesting will help my students become familiar with the basics of coding. In first grade, kids are already familiar with technology but often don't understand how it all works. By bringing coding into the classroom, my students will become familiar with the importance of planning, applying and strategizing their work. Learning the basics of coding teaches great problem solving skills, and the children will enjoy it. My students will use these resources in a whole group, small group, and individual setting. They will be encouraged to find new ways to plan routes for the mouse or the code-a-pillar to arrive to their destination. I plan to integrate these resources across all areas of learning. I am excited to be able to include coding in the classroom.
