My students need a classroom that is a safe and inviting for meaningful learning. Having the new rug gives them a place to come together and share experiences, thoughts, and ideas. It also serves a place where we can welcome parents and other visitors to our classroom. Our students will benefit tremendously from learning to express themselves verbally as well as learning to listen to others. The tables will provide adequate workspace for students to transfer these conversation skills into productive group work. Your donation will help our Kindergarten classroom by building learners who are empowered by their ability to express themselves while also listening and collaborating with others. Research shows to ensure students success, parents must be included in their child's education. The materials we hope to gain from this project will give us more flexibility to invite parents into our classroom. They can come be apart of our carpet time and participate in our group discussions. They will be able to work with students at the groups tables to participate in student learning. Even if parents cannot make it physically inside the classroom, the discussion skills students learn will help them describe their day to their parents and include them in their learning. I am confident these materials will have an enormous positive impact on my students learning. The ability to express themselves at an early age will help them build confidence and continue to grow as learners. As a society, we are always in need of people who can express themselves effectively, but we are also in need of people who can listen to others and come together to achieve a common goal. Helping me purchase these materials for my students, ensures that we are taking another step towards producing those type of people.
