Learning isn't about the pen and paper in my classroom, it is about the experiences the students have. There are a lot of interesting movies about science and experiments that I would like to show my students using the DVD player. Everyone wants hands on learning, some want arts and crafts some want to play in the dirt. This project will combine both aspects. I want to have my students experience of growing plants from seeds using the seeds and soil kits. When the students grow plants I want them to challenge themselves. They will have to pick a plant and what type of "soil" or "rocks" are they going to grow it in. Then some students can use the Ziploc bags to create a greenhouse type of environment. It will be great to see how students think the plants will and should grow. To round off the experience students will create charts about the growing process using markers and crayons. The laminator will be used to make the students projects last.
