My students are of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. They are 8th graders trying to meet the challenges of preparing for high school. They are alternately excited and overwhelmed by the things they are learning about South Carolina and U.S. history. They have a variety of things that engage their interest and learning. My hope is that the instructional materials that I am requesting support in purchasing will help increase their interest in the topics we examine. Our classroom is warm and inviting with opportunities for students to engage with each other and me, their teacher, in the learning process. It contains resources on the subjects we explore to augment their learning and books to read just for the fun of it. I am always looking for ways to improve on what we do in the classroom.
