Our school is dedicated to students with multiple reading levels - low, medium, and high. If we are able to build interest in the novels that they read, the chances are better for more students to be successful no matter their level. Having these books to take home will allow them to build their reading stamina and fluency. "The books we read answer questions we didn't even know existed..." One of the goals that I have for my students is that they relate to and possibly draw connections between themselves and some of the characters in our text. As they read about characters that face similar dilemmas, perhaps these scenarios will assist them in navigating the tough decision making process necessary for their own success in life.
