In my classroom, we do a lot of hands on activities that center around life skills. Because of this, we do spend a great deal of time in our life skills room that contains a kitchen and living area. There is, however, still a need to be able to learn in a more traditional classroom setting. We do have a classroom for traditional learning, but it is much smaller than an average classroom. I'm expecting a large number of students for the upcoming school year, but my classroom is pretty small! Individual desks or large tables are not going to be efficient in our tiny classroom. In fact, given the number of students I am anticipating, I don't think traditional tables or desks will work at all! I believe that having long, thin banquet tables will allow all of the students to have a place to sit and complete class work without overcrowding the classroom.
