Our classroom needs new and inventive literature! We need to better engage our students with text that are fun and modern, or classics which relate to their real world experiences in today's society! Help me make my students book minded. To engage in reading, become passionate learners, experience empathy and compassion, and grow stronger minds. We need book minded youth! The Diary of Anne Frank will teach my kids empty, human rights, hardships, courage, and relate to real world civil rights issues in today's society. A Wrinkle in Time Graphic Novel offers a colorful, comic style, engaging text which can be used to differentiate lessons, encourage the struggling readers, and leave an open door for creativity. Wonder offers a modern, real word lesson on empathy and kindness. It will engage students on today's bully scene and allow them to consider the impacts of today's youth, social media, and how we treat others.
